Colorado Congresswoman Lauren Boebert has withdrawn her request for a permanent restraining order against her ex-husband Jayson Boebert. This decision comes after a series of turbulent events involving the Boebert family, including Jayson Boebert's arrest in two separate incidents.
The temporary protection order for domestic abuse was initially granted on Feb. 2 following Jayson Boebert's involvement in troubling incidents. The first incident took place on Jan. 6 at a restaurant in Silt, Colorado, where Jayson Boebert was charged with disorderly conduct, third-degree trespass, and obstruction of a peace officer in an altercation with his ex-wife. The second incident occurred on Jan. 9 at a residence outside Silt, involving his 18-year-old son, Tyler Boebert. Jayson Boebert allegedly assaulted his son and grabbed a rifle, resulting in charges of prohibited use of weapons, harassment, and assault in the third degree.
Lauren Boebert and Jayson Boebert finalized their divorce in October of the previous year, marking the end of their tumultuous relationship. Their son, Tyler Boebert, has also been in legal trouble recently, having been arrested in Colorado for alleged property thefts and vehicle trespasses. Tyler Boebert is facing five felony counts, including criminal possession of identification documents and conspiracy to commit a felony.
In light of the escalating situation, Tyler Boebert filed a protection order against his father, Jayson Boebert. The judge granted the protection order with strict requirements, such as no threats or harassment, surrendering of weapons, no alcohol consumption, and no restraint against contact. Despite these conditions, it was revealed in court that Tyler Boebert is currently residing with his father, Jayson Boebert.
The proceedings in court regarding the restraining order were temporarily delayed until Monday due to Jayson Boebert's failure to appear. While Lauren Boebert has announced her intention to run in Colorado Congressional District 4 after facing a potentially tough reelection battle, the focus remains on the complex family dynamics and legal issues unfolding within the Boebert family.
